You pay one monthly amount for a term you choose. The vehicle stays insured, serviced and road legal for the whole of it.
The mileage allowance and the excess rate are set per vehicle and shown on the listing before you choose a term.
This is the part most listings quietly skip, and it is the part that gets people stopped.
A licence issued outside Sri Lanka does not, on its own, entitle you to drive here. You need a temporary Sri Lankan driving permit, issued by the Department of Motor Traffic or by the Automobile Association of Ceylon.
The permit is usually issued for a shorter period than your visa, and often for considerably less than twelve months. We record its expiry during verification and will not sell you a term that runs past it. If you ask for six months and your permit covers four, we say so and offer the shorter term rather than letting you discover the problem at a checkpoint.
Your permit lists the classes you may drive. A car permit does not cover a motorcycle, and several owners set a minimum age of 21 for cars and 18 for scooters. Both are checked before a booking is accepted, not after.
We retry over the following days and tell you each time. You keep the vehicle during that window. If the card is expired or reported stolen we stop retrying at once and ask you to update it, rather than running four attempts that cannot succeed.
Cancel any time before your next charge. You keep the vehicle for the month you have already paid for and are not billed again. The deposit is released after the vehicle is returned and the dispute window closes.
Servicing is the owner’s responsibility and is part of what you are paying for. Report the fault through your subscription and we track it. If the vehicle is off the road for an extended period we adjust the cycle rather than charging for a month you could not use.
The listing is withdrawn automatically so nobody else can book it, and the owner is warned at thirty, seven and one day beforehand. An existing subscription is not interrupted by a lapse the owner fixes inside the warning window.
Browsing needs no account. Verification comes before your first subscription, not before your first search.
