What you need before you start, what we check, and when the money arrives.
This is the requirement most private listings elsewhere quietly ignore, and the one we will not move on.
A vehicle hired out for money must carry comprehensive insurance with the rent-a-car loading. Ordinary private cover does not extend to hire, and an insurer will decline a claim on that basis alone. If that happens the loss falls on you, not on the renter and not on us.
We record the insurer, the policy number, the expiry date, and whether the loading is present. A policy without the loading cannot be published at all. A policy that expires is warned about at thirty, seven and one day, and the listing is withdrawn on the day it lapses.
An existing subscription is not cancelled by a lapse you fix inside the warning window, but the vehicle stops being bookable by anyone new until the new certificate is uploaded.
Eight of them, in daylight, with the vehicle clean: front three-quarter, rear three-quarter, both sides, the interior from the driver’s door, the rear seats, the boot, and the odometer. Listings with real photographs of the actual vehicle get substantially more enquiries than ones using a manufacturer image, and a stock photo of a different car is a rejection.
You set a monthly amount for each term you offer, a deposit, and a mileage allowance with an excess rate per kilometre beyond it. Longer terms should cost less per month: that discount is the whole reason someone subscribes rather than renting daily, and it is shown to renters as a computed percentage rather than a claim.
Each time a renter’s monthly cycle is paid, your share is recorded against your account. It sits in clearing for a short dispute window, then becomes available. Available earnings go out in the next payout batch by bank transfer to the account on your profile.
The owner console splits the three figures on purpose. Collapsing them into a single balance is how an owner comes to believe they are owed money they cannot yet have.
Listing costs nothing. Commission is a percentage of each monthly cycle, and during the launch window it is set to zero.
